I was born in Monterey, California, “with greasepaint behind the ears”, as my lawyerly father is fond of saying. Actually, that isn't far from the truth.
When I was six years old, I staged Babar - King of the Elephants in our living room and cast him against-type as “Mrs. Babar." This inspired my English teacher mother to enroll me in a local drama school, the Children’s Experimental Theatre. As I stepped onstage for the first time in Moliere's THE FORCED MARRIAGE, I discovered what would become my ruling passion: Acting.
After nine years of classes at C.E.T., I went on to successfully complete the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain's summer intensive. I was then admitted to Northwestern University (my parents' alma mater), where I studied acting with master teacher David Downs. I received a BS, with Distinction, then plunged into Chicago’s bustling theatre scene, performing with a variety of theaters, including the groundbreaking Lookingglass Theatre Company.
